Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

CLUB 21ST CENTURY

@ the vibe bar

The transglobal generation hooks up every Thursday in Brick Lane, of all places. If you can resist the temptation of walking past two-dozen curry houses en route to the Vibe Bar, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

The interior is stylish and relaxed, and offers patrons the chance to hook into the Internet and surf the world's websites.

The music reflects the global perspective. DJ Talvin Singh kicks off tonight in the Indian subcontinent, before Tunde Jegede introduces African beats with a live performance.

The Aquarium is enjoying a bit of a renaissance of late, and this Sunday-night gem can take most of the plaudits. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly (who needs attitude on a Sunday night?), with everybody in the mood for socialising.

This is a good venue to chill in, so it's perfect for those who want to ease their way out of partying and into the beginning of the week. On second thoughts, forget that; you've got all week to catch up on sleep - bring your dancing shoes (or swimming trunks) and leave the double duvet at home.

ABSOLUTE SUNDAYS

@ the aquarium

Bass-driven house is served up a little harder with a sparse garnish of vocals. Like it or loathe it, MoS has a bangin' sound system and it always gets a good workout on Frisky nights. As ever, MoS procures a smart, cosmopolitan crowd which isn't afraid to work hard on the dancefloor.

Residents feature Heaven, John Kelly, Craig Campbell and Paul Jackson. While it's hard to imagine anyone anywhere who hasn't been to MoS, if you haven't checked out Frisky, do; 8 out of 10 clubbers prefer it.
