Alex Trebek’s wife Jean has paid tribute to her late husband with a photo of the couple on their wedding day.

On Wednesday, days after the Jeopardy! host died of stage four pancreatic cancer at 80, Jean thanked fans for their condolences and support while sharing the heartwarming photo from the couple’s 1990 wedding.

“My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity. Your expressions have truly touched our hearts. Thank you so very, very much,” she wrote.

The 56-year-old concluded the message: “Many blessings to all, Jean Trebek.”

In the photo, Alex, dressed in a white suit, can be seen sliding a wedding band on his wife’s finger as she looks down at their linked hands.

The emotional tribute prompted a renewed outpouring of well-wishes for Jean and the couple’s two children, Emily, 27, and Matthew, 29.

“Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your husband with the world. He was a legend and adored by all. Wishing you and your children peace and comfort,” one person commented.

Another said: “A beautiful picture of a beautiful couple. Much love to you and the kids Jean.”

Prior to his death, the game show host opened up about his life and his 30-year marriage to Jean in an interview with People, where he revealed that he wished he and his wife had met earlier.

“I’m pretty satisfied with my life,” Alex told the outlet. “But my wife Jean and I have been together almost 29 years, and I was thinking about President Bush when he died, and all the comments about his life about what a nice guy he is, and how he and his wife had been together 73 years. I thought, oh my gosh … if I’d just met Jean in my 20s we could have had a longer life together.

“I guess if I’d met her when I was in my 20s she wouldn’t have been born yet. But hey, 29 years is pretty good!"

The couple, who were separated by an age difference of 24 years met in 1988 when Alex was 47 and Jean was 23.
