From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Forbes has published its fourth annual “30 Under 30 Europe” list.

The list features 300 “young disruptors” under the age of 30 who are transforming their industries, including 30 honourees in each of the 10 catogries.

Among the members on this year’s list is model Adwoa Aboah who has modelled for luxury fashion brands such as Calvin Klein and Alexander Wang and appeared on the cover on international editions of Vogue, i-D and TIME magazine.

The 26-year-old London-born star is also the founder of Gurls Talk – an online platform where young women can discuss issues such as mental health, sex, and social media.

Recent Bafta-award winner Letitia Wright joins Adwoa on the list following her meteoric rise to fame as a result of breakout roles in the 2018 blockbuster Black Panther and an Emmy nomination for the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror in the same year.

In addition, award-winning journalist, author and podcaster Reni Eddo-Lodge has been named as one to watch on the media and marketing list. The 29-year-old found international success after her debut non-fiction book Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race was published in 2017.

Her podcast About Race with Reni Eddo-Lodge was named as one of the best podcasts of 2018 by Wired and GQ.

British actors Joe Alwyn, Georgina Campbell, and Jodie Comer also feature on the list, as do musicians Jorja Smith, Jess Glynne, Stefflon Don, George Ezra.

The honourees, of which 36 per cent are women, originate from 34 European countries and have immigrated from another 22 non-European countries.

“Four years on from its launch, the 30 Under 30 Europe list continues to be not only the defining measure of success for the region’s next generation of leaders, but also a source of empowerment for all honorees,” said Alex Wood, Europe Editor at Forbes.

“We’ve searched throughout Europe to identify 300 of the most revolutionary entrepreneurs, innovators and disruptors in ten diverse sectors, who are changing the game throughout the region and across the globe.”
