During the Cannes Film Festival Chopard jewellery was stolen from the Novotel Hotel on 17 May this year, four days later the Festival was hit by a second heist when a £1.7m diamond necklace disappeared from a glitzy event at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes. This week 'one of the biggest jewellery heists ever' took place at an exhibition at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes.
