Travel publisher releases free iPhone guide to Vancouver

Ahead of the start of the Winter Olympics this week, travel publisher Lonely Planet is giving away its iPhone city guide application.

The app can be downloaded from the iPhone application store or iTunes and will be free until March 1. It lists over 70 of the top sites and shows on location-aware maps and allows users to view fun facts on Vancouver, special tips on what to do, see or eat, or photos by tilting the iPhone.

There has been a series of iPhone app releases dedicated to Vancouver ahead of the Winter Olympics. Influential Canadian technology blog on canoe.ca has published a guide to its favourite apps, including the official CTV Olympics app, rulebook SportLogik and the Vancouver 2010 Full Calendar.
