Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Player: Massadio Haidara

Club: Nancy

Possible move to: Newcastle

Time left on deal: 18 months

The story: Newcastle desperately need to strengthen a woefully thin squad and a £2million offer has gone in for the full back Massadio Haidara. Roma have shown interest but United are speaking to the player and want to push through a deal quickly.

Chance of moving: Four stars

Player: Tim Krul

Club: Newcastle

Possible move to: AC Milan

Time left on deal: Three-and-a-half years

The story: AC Milan are in the market for a new goalkeeper and have earmarked the powerful Krul as the man they want. A fee of around £10million has been mentioned but Newcastle, fighting relegation, know their position at the bottom of the table means they can't sell.

Chance of moving: Two stars

Player: Yann M'Vila

Club: Rennes

Possible move to: QPR

Time left on deal: Two-and-a-half years

The story: Harry Redknapp has got his cheque book out in a desperate bid to save Rangers. M'Vila has pedigree and was wanted by several clubs but QPR are prepared to pay big wages.

Chance of moving: Five stars

Player: Danny Graham

Club: Swansea

Possible move to: Sunderland

Time left on deal: Two-and-a-half years

The story: Graham wants out of Swansea where his first team chances are limited. The 27-year-old would love to return home to the north-east and Martin O'Neill's team need a regular goalscorer (and keep an eye on Newcastle in this one).

Chance of moving: Three stars

Player: Etienne Capoue

Club: Toulouse

Possible move to: Everton

Time left on deal: 18 months

The story: Everton are bracing themselves for losing the hugely influential Marouane Fellaini in the summer. David Moyes knows that if the clause in Fellaini's contract gets triggered then he will need to find a replacement.

Chance of moving: Two stars
