Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

I'm quite sad it's all over. I have learnt so much about food and nutrition. My body shape has changed and my complexion has improved – with previous health regimes it's taken three to four months to see an improvement but this has made a difference in four weeks.

I thought the exercise would be really difficult and it was to start with, but it's become part of my routine now. I'm really pleased. At the moment my goal is to increase my runs to 30 minutes, and I might take up tennis again.

The original incentive to do well was that people could see my progress in print, but working with Matt and Lynne has been an amazing experience in itself. I feel so privileged to have had the luxury of such encouragement and expertise. I'm looking forward to retoxing, within reason. I was in the habit of drinking every evening and won't get back into that, but if I fancy a drink I'll have one. I'm also looking forward to eating chocolate.

I'm going out for dinner tomorrow night – my first proper meal out since Christmas. I'm already thinking about what to choose.
