In Los Angeles, Shaquille O'Neal burned his former team with 27 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as Los Angeles beat Orlando.
Glen Rice added 24 points and Derek Fisher scored 14 of his 16 in the first quarter for the Lakers, who went ahead for good in the opening four minutes en route to their sixth straight victory.
Kobe Bryant, playing his third game since returning to action after spending seven weeks on the sidelines because of a broken right hand, added 15 points in 26 minutes.
O'Neal, who played four seasons for the Magic before joining the Lakers before the 1996-97 season, made 11-of-16 field goal attempts and 5-of-11 free throws. g.
Darrell Armstrong, held scoreless for the first 17 minutes, led Orlando with 20 points and nine assists.

Raptors 98, Spurs 92
Vince Carter scored a career-high 39 points as the Toronto Raptors beat the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs 98-92 on Sunday.
Carter, last season's rookie of the year, was 15-for-25 from the field. He also had seven rebounds, and made all eight of his free throws.
Tim Duncan had 27 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs.

Hornets 103, SuperSonics 81
In Seattle, Derrick Coleman scored 26 points as Charlotte beat Seattle 103-81.
Eddie Robinson had a season-high 18 points for the Hornets, who improved to 3-6 on the road and concluded their four-game trip with a 2-2 record.
Gary Payton led the Sonics with 17 points.

Nuggets 80, Knicks 78
In New York, Bryant Stith blocked Latrell Sprewell's jumper with 6 seconds left and Denver, after trailing for almost the entire night, won their first road game of the season over New York 80-78.
Nick Van Exel scored 20 points, including 14 in the third quarter, and Antonio McDyess added 16 on a night when the Nuggets were without their leading scorer, Ron Mercer.
Allan Houston, who led New York with 15, missed a foul shot that would have tied the game with 12 seconds left. He then had a chance to win it but missed a 22-footer at the buzzer.

Bucks 103, Mavericks 97
In Milwaukee, Sam Cassell dominated the game with 16 points and a career-high 18 assists as Milwaukee held off scrappy Dallas with 103-97 victory.
Cassell, who had 23 points and 15 assists at Chicago on Saturday, emphatically put his early season offensive troubles behind him with a marvelous weekend of play.
Michael Finley was almost as impressive for the Mavericks. He had 29 points, including 12 during a last-minute rally that cut Milwaukee's 21-point fourth-quarter lead to 97-91 with 40 seconds to play.

Trail Blazers 92, Suns 90
In Phoenix, Rasheed Wallace sank a 15-foot jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining, lifting Portland to victory over Phoenix.
Suns forward Tom Gugliotta had tied it at 90 on a layup with 16 seconds to play, giving the Blazers one last shot. After a timeout, Detlef Schrempf got the in-bounds pass to Scottie Pippen, who passed to Wallace on the left side. Wallace led Portland with 21 points.
Arvydas Sabonis had 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and Pippen had 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists as Portland improved the NBA's best road record to 9-3.
Gugliotta and Cliff Robinson scored 19 points each for Phoenix, which lost for only the second time in 10 home games.
