ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attend a Service of Installation of the Knights of the Thistle in St Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh and give a Thistle Luncheon at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Outward Bound Trust, attends a Patron's Company Presentation at the Northern Lighthouse Board, George Street, Edinburgh. The Prince of Wales opens Normandy House, St Mary's, Isles of Scilly, a new housing development by Devon and Cornwall Housing Association; visits new harbour facilities at St Mary's, Isles of Scilly; views construction on the largest new boat to be built on the islands for some years, at St Mary's, Isles of Scilly; and visits the Scillonian Club, St Mary's, Isles of Scilly, to mark its 75th anniversary. The Princess Royal, President, Royal Agricultural Society of England, attends the Royal Show, National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire; The Duke of Gloucester also attends. The Duke of Kent, President, the Stroke Association, presents Long Service Awards at St James's Palace, London SW1; as President, attends the Automobile Association Committee dinner, Brooks's, St James's Street, London SW1. Princess Michael of Kent, President, the Soldiers,' Sailors', and Airmen's Family Association (SSAFA), attends the SSAFA Annual General Meeting at Glazier's Hall, London.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Welsh Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
