Chinese Film Panorama in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is taking part in the 60th anniversary of China with a month-long Chinese Film Panorama scheduling mainland Chinese films designed to "instill a sense of belonging among Hongkongers,'' according to organizers.

Nobel Prize for Medicine

The first of the Nobel Prizes to be announced, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is selected by 50 voting members composed of professors in medical subjects at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. Last year's prize was given to Germany's Harald zur Hausen for his research on cervical cancer and France's Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier, for their discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
