From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.David Beckham took part in his first training session with PSG today, and although just coming back from his holidays, found it was far from a stroll on the beach.
Following his January transfer deadline day move to the French club, the former England captain trained alongside his new team-mates for the first time.
Much of the session at the club's Camp des Loges training centre just outside Paris appeared straightforward, but Beckham was singled out to run on sand as part of his regime.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player is short of match sharpness having not played since leaving LA Galaxy last year. Running on sand is designed to help build up his fitness.

Last night Beckham was in the stands to watch his new team beat Valencia 2-1 in the Champions League.
The 37-year-old is expected to make his debut for PSG later this month, with this weekend's away match against Sochaux a possibility. However, his first appearance for the Ligue 1 leaders is more likely to take place against Marseille on Sunday 24 February.
