Patric Kjellberg and Drake Berehowsky scored for Nashville.

Red Wings 3, Kings 1

In Detroit, Steve Yzerman scored two goals and Manny Legace won his second straight start in the Detroit net.

Vyacheslav Kozlov also scored for the Red Wings, who have won four of their last five and six of eight.

Glen Murray had the lone goal for the Los Angeles Kings, who lost for the first time in their last five games (2-1-2).

Sabres 2, Blackhawks 1

In Buffalo, New York, Miroslav Satan broke one of Buffalo's longest scoring droughts early in the third period and rookie Maxim Afinogenov added the game-winner as the Sabres beat Chicago.

Afinogenov collected a cross-ice pass from Dixon Ward, eluded Blackhawks defenseman Doug Zmolek and one-timed the puck past goaltender Steve Passmore at 8:04.

Satan's goal 34 seconds into the third ended Buffalo's scoring drought at 162 minutes, 29 seconds.

The Blackhawks snapped a long scoreless streak of their own with wing Blair Atcheynum's goal at 13:11 of the first period.

Lightning 3, Hurricanes 2

In Tampa, Florida, Chris Gratton and Stan Drulia each had a goal and assist as Tampa Bay snapped a 10-game winless streak against Carolina.

Dan Cloutier made 28 saves for the Lightning, which had not beaten the Hurricanes since the 1997 season opener at the Ice Palace.

Vincent Lecavalier also scored for the Lightning.

Paul Ranheim and Sean Hill had goals for Carolina, and Hurricane captain Ron Francis moved into a fourth-place tie with Mark Messier in career assists (1,057) when he assisted on Hill's goal at 9:23 of the third.

Stars 4, Panthers 3

In Dallas, Jamie Langenbrunner's goal with 17:08 remaining snapped a Florida run and gave the Stars a 4-3 victory over the Panthers.

Florida rallied late in the second period for three goals over a span of 1:42, the fastest three goals in team history, after Dallas had built a 3-0 first-period lead.

Sergei Zubov, Joe Nieuwendyk and Mike Modano scored the Stars' first-period goals, driving starting Florida goaltender Trevor Kidd to the bench at 12:37.

Scott Mellanby, Paul Laus and Viktor Koslov scored for Florida, the latter's goal tying the game with 1:04 left in the second period.

Stars 4, Panthers 3

In Calgary, Alberta, Valeri Bure's power-play goal early in the third period lifted Calgary over Vancouver.

Andrei Nazarov and Cale Hulse scored the other goals for the Flames, who stretched their home winning streak to four games. Marc Savard added a pair of assists.

Brad May and Peter Schaefer scored for the Canucks, who are winless in their last eight road games (0-5-3).
