Your support makes all the difference.Sergio Aguero has insisted that the break-up of his high-profile marriage will not affect his commitment to Manchester City.
The striker's relationship with Diego Maradona's daughter Giannina made them one of Argentina's most-photographed couples. However, Giannina announced their separation on Twitter last month and is remaining in Buenos Aires with their three-year-old son, Benjamin.
"I am trying to adapt myself to my new situation after the break-up," said Aguero, above, who has been in Italy receiving treatment for a torn hamstring that will keep him out for several matches.
"It is not easy because I had a very intense relationship with Gianni. We grew up together and loved each other a lot. We also have our son, Ben, who is a blessing. But that is hard for me because Ben is in Argentina and I am in Manchester. I will try to make sure this doesn't affect my performances because I will try to be professional. I don't think my performances have been suffering but, let me tell you, it is hard to be so far away from your son. It is impossible not to miss him."
Even though gossip magazines in Argentina had been speculating about the state of Aguero's marriage since September, he appears to have coped well. The striker has found the net 10 times this season until his hamstring gave way in the 3-0 win over Stoke on New Year's Day.
"Manchester City are fine," the 24-year-old told the Argentinian paper, Ole. "We are not playing as well as we did last season but we are winning matches. We definitely can play as we did last season."
