Private healthcare group Bupa has hired Evelyn Bourke from insurance group Resolution to be its new chief financial officer.
Ms Bourke was finance chief at Friends Provident before its takeover by Resolution in 2009 and became chief financial officer of the insurer's heritage division. She previously held senior roles at Standard Life.
She will take over from acting group finance director Neil Taylor who will return to his previous job as finance and development director for Bupa Care Services once Ms Bourke, whose starting date is yet to be confirmed, has settled into her role.
Bupa's chief executive, Stuart Fletcher, said: "Evelyn's finance, risk, actuarial, operations and mergers and acquisitions know-how will be invaluable as we grow Bupa."
