From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The TV series will include exclusive interactive content for Microsoft’s newly released Xbox One, based on the blockbuster single-player game.
Few details about the content of the TV series have been announced, although it is expected to focus on the central “Halo” character Master Chief and his battles against the evil Covenant.
The game has previously been made into a live-action web series called "Halo: Forward Unto Dawn", but this is the first time an adaptation has been made into a TV format.
Spielberg will be an executive producer on the TV series. The director, who is best known for ET, Schindler’s List and Jurassic Park, has been an executive producer on over a dozen US TV series including Smash, Falling Skies and United States of Tara.
Microsoft’s decision to create original content for its new console comes after other digital platforms such as Netflix and Amazon have launched their own scripted dramas.
