The remake of Final Fantasy VII finally has a release date as well as a new trailer.
The game will arrive on 3 March 2020, according to developers Square Enix.
The company made the announcement during a concert devoted to Final Fantasy, and at the same time as the E3 gaming conference.
It also premiered a trailer that shows the remake in new detail.
It is not clear what the announcement means for previous suggestions that the game would be released episodically. The date could represent the first of those drops – or it could simply be the date at which the entire game arrives.
The Final Fantasy VII remake was first announced four years ago, at the E3 event in 2015. Then it proceeded to disappear, with little discussion of it in the years since.
It arrived back in public when it was shown off during a PlayStation event. And now Square Enix looks set to discuss it during its E3 press conference.
