From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s been rumoured, it’s been leaked (several times), but now it’s finally been confirmed: the BioShock series is to be remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

BioShock: The Collection was confirmed by 2K Games in a recent blog post, where it was also revealed the title will launch internationally for all the intended platforms on September 16. Developed with Blind Squirrel Games, BioShock: The Collection will include all three of the BioShock games - BioShock, BioShock 2, and the most recent BioShock Infinite - all visually improved for current-gen consoles.

As well as the main titles, the collection will include all of their single player DLC and there will also be a video series called “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock” that features Ken Levine, creative director on BioShock and BioShock Infinite and Shawn Robertson, animation lead on BioShock and animation director on BioShock Infinite.

The only thing notably missing from the collection is the multiplayer from BioShock 2, though it should also be noted that the PC version of BioShock Infinite in the collection won’t be remastered as 2K Games state that “it already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings.”

A US price point of $59.99 has been announced for the title, with a UK price yet to be confirmed.
