Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

My style is pretty eclectic – particularly in the summer when you can get away with really mixing things up. I'll buy a little sundress from Miss Selfridge (www.missselfridge.com) – which is doing some great stuff at the moment – or Topshop (www.topshop.com) and pair it with an oversized Chanel bag and some flip-flops that I picked up in a market in Ibiza.

I also love Stella McCartney's floaty summer dresses (www.stellamccartney.com) and you can't beat a nice pair of Tom Ford sunglasses (pictured above, www.tomford.com).

When I'm on the beach, it has to be one of Melissa Odabash's amazing, sexy bikinis (www.odabash.com).

When I'm picking accessories I like to incorporate some quite earthy, ethnic elements into my look so I often buy one-off pieces of jewellery with big, semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli and rose quartz and I go to Anna Lou of London for sweet, quirky bits and pieces (www.annalouoflondon.com).

I'm 6ft so it's always flat shoes for me – Jimmy Choo makes beautiful, glamorous pairs (www.jimmychoo.com) and French Sole does some lovely daytime styles (www.frenchsole.co.uk).

London is fantastic for high-street shopping but I don't bother looking for vintage here because it's horrendously overpriced. New York is the place for second-hand finds and Sydney is just great generally – everyone should check out the shops around Paddington and Oxford Street there.

Of course I'm biased but I thinkmy sister Jemma has fantastic style – she's a smarter version of Sienna or Kate – and I really do use lots of products from her make-up range, especially the new bronzer (www.jemmakidd.com). I got given L'Oréal mascara in a goody bag and now swear by it as a fantastic bargain beauty buy (www.lorealparis.co.uk).
