Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Classic pieces from designers such as Stella McCartney (www.stellamccartney.com) and 3.1 Phillip Lim (www.31philliplim.com) feature heavily in my wardrobe.

Fantastically cut trousers or dresses are indispensable staples that never date. My Balenciaga Lariat bag has served me well; the leather is beautifully soft and it works with so many outfits (www.balenciaga.com). Similarly, I can't imagine being without my Alaia heels (right, www.harveynichols.com).

I love Zooey Deschanel's adventurous, eclectic look and also Gwyneth Paltrow, who manages simple stylishness without looking like a fashion victim.

In my work I see talented designers all the time but this season I have my eye on the Mulleavy sisters, who produce the breathtaking dresses behind the Rodarte label (www.rodarte.net). Jil Sander's summer collection was also really strong; particularly the cropped, tailored bolero jackets and chiffon dresses in bright, full colours (www.jilsander.com). Even though it's summertime, I am already looking forward to the autumn collections and Bottega Veneta's trench coat is definitely on my wish list (www.bottegaveneta.com).

A current beauty favourite is the Real Hair range – finally haircare that serves the same purpose as skincare; the intensive masque is amazing (www.realhair.co.uk).

I've also been wearing Escentric's Molecule fragrance for quite some time now and I have never worn anything that has been commented on so much (www.escentirc.com). My monthly microdermabrasion treatment with Dr Barry Cohen at Beyond Spa is a fantastic boost (www.beyondmedispa.co.uk).

And lastly, I have always been a firm believer in the power of accessories and this is definitely the season of the statement necklace.
