Rishi Sunak has revealed that he works out on a £1,750 Peloton bike in the morning before work, The Times reported.

When asked how he likes to start his day at the Conservative Party conference, he said: “Depending on how energetic I’m feeling I’ll either do treadmill, Peloton or some gym class".

He went on to say how he hates running outside, and instead prefers the treadmill.

Peloton has been dubbed the best way to work out from home and has acquired a cult following thanks to its upbeat and motivational classes, which are part of its subscription membership.

Classes can be chosen depending on your mood, schedule and music preferences, and are not exclusive to spin – within the app you also have the choice of additional classes which include yoga, post-ride stretches, and strength training. These are all streamed via the 21in HD touchscreen.

The Peloton itself resembles the type of spin bike you’d see at a spin studio, and you can pimp your ride with a range of accessories – including hand weights.

Mr Sunak is no stranger to high-tech gadgets since his pre-budget photo showed him with his £180 smart travel mug, which tracks your caffeine intake and maintains your preferred drinking temperature.

But, if you want a fitness regime good enough for the chancellor, this is the exercise bike you need.
