Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Java lovers will know nothing perks you up like that first cup of caffeine in the morning.
For many, it was often on the commute into the office, but since we’ve been in lockdown for over a year now, we’ve had to make do with homemade brews.
Thankfully there’s an unending variety of coffee machines to shop that promise barista-style drinks from the comfort of your kitchen.
They don’t always come cheap, however, with some costing more than £1,000. So when we spotted a bargain too good to miss on a Tassimo by Bosch coffee machine, we couldn't wait to share.
There’s £70 to be saved on the machine and adding it to your kitchen counter means you’ll be able to get a caffeine fix anytime you fancy.

We’ve put it through its paces too, so we can vouch for it being well worth the full price. Now that it’s on sale at Currys PC World for less than £30, there’s no reason not to treat yourself.

Tassimo by Bosch happy TAS1002GB coffee machine: Was £99, now £29.99, Currys.co.uk
Taking a spot in our guide to the best pod coffee machines for an easy at-home brew, our reviewer recommended this Tassimo by Bosch design for the occasional coffee drinker because “it combines a modest price with a choice of over 40 drinks, including Costa’s own branded pods, which are barcoded to identify how much water needs to be dispensed by the machine”.
Espresso is our drink of choice, and our tester said the machine produced “consistently rich espresso with a lingering, sippable crema”.
Not only that, it has a compact size that won’t take up much space in a small kitchen and requires just one press of a button to operate, making it fool proof and fuss free.
