Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. If you’re a fan of budget beauty or you’re a regular IndyBest reader (a perfect combination), you are probably well aware of my love for the e.l.f O face lipstick, and I don’t use the L word lightly.
In fact, not only have I raved about this make-up must-have in my review of the best red lipsticks – dubbing it the best affordable bullet style – I’ve also named it best overall in my bargain beauty guide. For good measure, it’s also been included in my make-up under £20 article.
So, clearly, my love affair with this e.l.f O face lipstick has lasted a rather long time. After spotting all 20 shades that are now available at Amazon, I’m taking the opportunity, yet again, to tell you all about it.
Why? Because it really is that wonderful – both lipstick lovers and those who are still finding their feet with the more impactful product are sure to find the creamy, long-lasting colour quite the fail-safe find.
Plus, with a purse-friendly price point of £9 or less (depending on your chosen shade), there are few things with which to find fault. Keep reading to find out why I have such love for this product – or just indulge me while I rave about make-up.

E.l.f O face satin lipstick: Was £9, now £7.65, Amazon.co.uk
Spanning everything from light pinks to a head-turning black, there really is something to suit every make-up look, personal preference and skin tone in the e.l.f O face lipstick range.
Sitting on my bathroom shelf is the shade “own it” (pictured), alongside a more vibrant red named “loud AF”, the deeper, sultry “spicy”, and more neutral “dirty talk”. Proving that, with a price point of less than £10, the big plus is you can most likely buy more than one and, if you’re anything like me, probably won’t be able to choose a sole winner.
But, of course, it’s not only the number of shades and purse-friendly price point that make this e.l.f O face lipstick is so easy to fall in love with. It actually scored full marks in most other areas too: finish, feel, pigment and longevity, all included.
As it has a satin finish, you’ll see a slight sheen, which may not be the best for fans of ultra-matte make-up, but it’s sure to be a hit with anyone who likes a slightly dewy finish. This, combined with a blend of marula oil, squalane and jojoba esters, means it isn’t drying, and actually offers a slight hit of hydration, so your colour won’t crack or peel in places.
It also lasts for an impressive amount of time – you’ll only need to reapply once every few hours or so, as each pigment really does pack a punch. Need I say more?
