Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Bright red or subtle taupe; midnight blue or pretty pink, whatever colour you wear on your lips you want it to survive anything.
So, just like for the eyes and face, a reliable lip primer is a staple of any makeup bag.
As autumnal weather draws closer, our lips need a little extra help to be their best selves. The key to soft and healthy lips, after drinking lots of water, of course, is preparation.
Lip primers are designed to pamper and protect in order to give your lipstick the best chance of lasting all day and night.
Whether it be drinking without a straw, kissing or devouring a kebab on the way home from a night out – these primers will help your lip makeup outlast it all.

The Verdict: Best Lip Primers
Whilst Guerlain’s Kiss Kiss edged to first place, the Artdeco and MAC primers both noticeably improved the longevity of our testers’ lip colour.
In terms of long term lip care, however, Figora and Nuxe are both products we’ll be using again and for a light but long lasting lipstick.
