Great Britain's Chris Hoy defeated Gregory Baug of France 2-0 in the sprint bronze medal final in Sydney, Australia, yesterday in a World Cup track cycling event at the Dunc Gray Velodrome.

France's Mickaël Bourgain beat compatriot Kevin Sireau 2-0 in the sprint gold medal final while the Dutch pair, Peter Schep and Jens Mouris won the Madison.

The world champion Victoria Pendleton of Britain won the keirin ahead of Jennie Reed of the United States and third-placed Natalia Tsylinskaya of Belarus.

In the pursuit final, Russia's team of Eugeniya Romanyuta, Olga Slyusareva and Anastasiay Chulkova beat Australia to gold.
