Emma Henderson is a freelance writer, she specialises in writing about food and drink, sustainability, and reducing single-use plastics. Before going freelance, Emma was IndyBest Editor from 2018 until 2022, she joined The Independent in 2015, where she started on The Independent on Sunday and the i newspapers news reporting. From 2017, Emma was the editor of IndyEats, The Independent’s monthly digital food magazine, which was twice shortlisted for "best food magazine" at the Guild of Food Writers Awards. She also worked on The Daily Edition, The Independent's digital newspaper after the print edition closed in 2016. Emma worked on commissioning and editing long form features, as well as general features covering everything from tech, food, design, science and travel.
