Your support makes all the difference.Antiques expert Tim Wonnacott, 64, was voted off Strictly Come Dancing tonight after a shock result found him in a dance-off with The Only Way Is Essex’s Mark Wright.
Wonnacott and his partner Natalie were voted off after the judges unanimously chose to save Mark and his partner Karen.
Judges Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood both expressed surprise that Wright was at risk of leaving the competition after his “wonderful” quickstep last night, which they described as his “best performance” of the show so far.
Wonnacott, who presents Bargain Hunt and has been a regular on the Antiques Roadshow, was described by Goodman as “a bit of an antique”.
After the results came in Wonnacott thanked his “brilliant teacher” and dance partner. “It’s a great treat to be on a programme like Strictly for an antique bloke of 64 who is a bit portly and unfit,” he said.
Lady Gaga, whose UK tour started last week, appeared on tonight’s show to sing a medley of swing hits in duet with Tony Bennett.
Strictly once again beat X Factor in the Saturday night ratings battle. The dance contest was watched by an average audience of 9.16million, accounting for 43.3 percent of the evening’s viewers, up from 39.2 percent the week before.
