Only a few tweets mourned the loss of its sister show The Great British Bake Off, with many female (and some male) viewers expressing a soft spot for judge Patrick Grant.
The semi-final begins next week, and a few fans tweeted disappointment that the series is so short.
But despite The Great British Sewing Bee’s brevity, sewing machine sales are reportedly up since the show began last week, and sewing workshops were tweeting that their classes are filling up thanks to the new series.
