Sunday
I went to see Ruaraidh Murray’s very good one man show Big Sean, Mikey and Me at The Vaults which had been an Edinburgh Festival Fringe sell-out. In the bar, there were four naked accountants who could do your books if you wanted.
Monday
I vote for the Oscars so I get all the DVDs. I watched American Sniper, which is an absolutely amazing and brilliantly directed film.
Tuesday
I read To a Mountain in Tibet by Colin Thubron – I love it because it’s like travelling. I generally read before I go to bed and this transports me to Tibet in the most comfortable way possible, from my bed.
Wednesday
I love classical music and listened to Mahler’s Symphony No 4. It’s very dramatic.
Thursday
I watched The Judge, which has some brilliant performances, by Robert Downey Jnr in particular.
Friday
I love Mastermind. It’s touching that people spend so much time learning. I do have quite good general knowledge but I wouldn’t consider going on the show. I also like watching Only Connect.
Saturday
I read Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Stout – it’s a collection of short stories that are interconnected, and beautifully written.
