Will and Grace revival: Watch the original cast's musical return

Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Since concluding in 2006, Will & Grace fans have been praying for a revival.

When a 10-minute election special — urging people to vote — aired in 2016, those hopes neared reality. Then, earlier this year, NBC officially announced a new series was on the way, leaving hundreds overjoyed as 12 new episodes were confirmed.

Now, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes are back together, the new trailer for NBC’s revival having been released.

In the extended clip, Messing — who plays Grace — is reluctant to return, worrying things won’t be the same as before. Luckily, after some persuasion from the other three cast members through song and dance, she agrees to join the show once again. Watch below.

The series’ original creators, David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, are also back for the ninth series, along with regular director and executive producer James Burrows.

With Will & Grace being revived, will Friends follow? One can only hope. The revival will debut later this year on NBC.
