WandaVision finale day is upon us – and fans of the show are reacting to the lack of a big cameo they were predicting.

The inventive Disney Plus Marvel TV show has drawn to a close with its ninth episode, which was released on the streaming service on Friday (5 March).

Viewers were anticipating one final twist, though, in the form of an appearance from one of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision’s (Paul Bettany) fellow Avengers.

The expectation was that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) would show up at some point in the extended episode. This was mainly due to the fact that Wanda will be a main character in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which is set to be released in 2022.

However, these fans were incorrect – Cumberbatch’s character didn’t show up in the finale, and they’re now reacting accordingly.

WandaVision set up the new Doctor Strange film thanks to the inclusion of the Darkhold, which heralds a terrifying new chapter for the MCU.

The series all but confirmed an existence of the Multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to one of the show’s fictional advertisements that broke up the majority of episodes.

In episode seven, the series featured the word “Nexus”, which is the crossroads where every single alternate world featured in the Marvel Universe converge in the comic books.
