If just so we can make 'green lit' jokes.

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Broad City’s immensely-talented Ilana Glazer has revealed her next TV show, the succinctly-named Time Traveling Bong.

Comedy Central has ordered the series, which “centers on two cousins, played by Ilana Glazer and Paul Downs, who discover a time-traveling bong and ride high as they blaze through time. Their buzz is killed when the bong breaks and the cousins are forced to bounce around the space time continuum, learning to appreciate there’s no time like the present.”

Glazer, Downs, and Lucia Aniello released a statement about it: “No comment.”

I can only imagine the hyphen was left out between “time” and “traveling” because they were so baked.

Wilfully silly though the premise is, it will probably be a lot funnier than other time-travelling misadventures like, say, Hot Tub Time Machine, as Glazer’s Broad City has been a big hit with critics and viewers.

In fact, alongside the announcement of the new show, Comedy Central confirmed that it has renewed Broad City for seasons 4 and 5.

Time Traveling Bong will premiere on April 20, for obvious reasons.
