The chart star posted a message on Twitter to explain her stint on the show was over, although her departure after two series had long been expected.
She said: "Just wanted to let you all know that I won't be part of the X Factor panel this year. I've had a great time on the show, but this year it's time to do something different.
"I'd like to thank everyone on The X Factor for two amazing years. Stay tuned as I have a very exciting announcement soon."
The 24-year-old triumphed during her first year on the show with girl group Little Mix - whom she had mentored - taking the honours.
Past X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne is widely anticipated to be confirmed as her replacement after she had discussions with show bosses, although no official announcement has yet been made.
Tulisa - who found fame with N-Dubz - saw her chart career stall last year when her debut solo album limped to just number 35 in the charts. Her first solo single "Young" had been a chart-topper.
