From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer has reunited with her co-stars from the CBBC series for the music video to its theme song.

Airing from 2002 to 2005, the The Story of Tracy Beaker TV series – based on Jacqueline Wilson’s children’s books of the same name – followed a group of kids living in a care home nicknamed “The Dumping Ground”.

The show’s theme song “Someday” was performed by R&B singer Keisha White and was released on Friday (26 March) for the first time.

While Harmer has continued to play Tracy in spin-off series Tracy Beaker Returns, The Dumping Ground and My Mum Tracy Beaker, the video marked her first reunion with her former castmates from the original TV series.

In it, Tracy and daughter Jess (Emma Maggie) are baking cupcakes, when they’re surprised by a delivery from Tracy’s former best friend Louise, played by Chelsie Padley, who Tracy doesn’t recognise.

In 2019, Stormzy sampled the track “Someday” on his album Heavy is the Head.

My Mum Tracy Beaker, which aired on CBBC earlier this year, also saw Tracy reunite with her former enemy Justine Littlewood, played by Montanna Thompson.
