From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. There is good news for Tiger King fans who are feeling bereft after bingeing the whole series while on lockdown – series star Jeff Lowe has revealed that Netflix is releasing a bonus episode “next week”.

The zoo owner announced the new instalment in a video on Twitter: “Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. They’re filming here tomorrow.”

It is not clear how filming is taking place while the US is under lockdown, or whether the new episode will be a continuation of the series or more of a reunion special.

The Independent has contacted Netflix for comment.

Tiger King tells the story of Joe Exotic, a tiger trader embroiled in a rivalry with animal rights activist Carole Baskin. Their feud escalated so much it ended up with Exotic being sentenced to 22 years in prison for crimes including trying to hire someone to murder Baskin.

When the show came out, viewers branded it as “absolutely bonkers” and the “craziest show ever”.

While you wait for the bonus episode, here are seven other bizarre Netflix documentaries you can watch if you liked Tiger King.
