From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

ITV viewers have celebrated as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford returned to host This Morning for the first time in 2021.

The married presenting pair were removed from their regular Friday timeslot at the end of last year, and were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

It was stipulated, however, that Holmes and Langsford would return as guest presenters during This Morning’s half term episodes, the first of which aired earlier today (15 February).

Viewers expressed their delight at the couple’s return on social media.

“So happy to see @EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL back on #ThisMorning,” wrote one viewer. “Going to be tuned in all week. Much missed.”

“So good to see @EamonnHolmes & @RuthieeL back on together,” wrote someone else. “I miss you both but half terms are something to look forward to now. We are in the capable & safe hands of Holly & Phil & Alison & Dermot and can look forward to half terms holidays to see you both on.”

“ Yay! THE BEST presenting duo are back on #ThisMorning - back where they should be!” wrote another Twitter user. “@ITV bring back @RuthieeL and @EamonnHolmes on Fridays! Axing them was a HUGE mistake!!”

While Hammond and O’Leary have taken over the Friday slot, This Morning is still hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during its regular weekday episodes.
