The arrival of the Whisperers and their leader, Alpha – chillingly played by Samantha Morton – heralds what readers of the comic book know to be a series of brutal ends for a number of characters – and new evidence suggests the show will not shy away from these, especially considering that scene in its latest episode, "Guardians".

Weeks after it was reported that King Ezekiel actor Khary Payton could be departing the show in either the ninth or tenth season of the AMC series, Forbes has unearthed new information that may predict the death of someone nobody predicted would leave the series at this stage: Enid (Katelyn Nacon).
Nacon has recently upped sticks to Los Angeles from the show’s filming location of Georgia. When asked by INSIDER whether this spells trouble for her character, whom she’s played since season five, Nacon said “it’s hard to say”, but maintained she “still has a lot more to do”.
Could Enid die in place of the character that perishes a this stage in the comic book? (find out who here). Time will tell.
The Walking Dead is in the process of big change following the departure of Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan. The former will return in a trilogy of films dedicated to his character Rick Grimes while Cohan’s character Maggie is expected to come back in a similar way at an unknown stage in the future. Meanwhile, a second sin-off series has just been announced.
The Walking Dead season 9 continues in the US every Sunday with the UK premiere arriving the following evening on FOX. You can find the biggest talking points from the show’s latest episode, “Bounty”, here.
