Season seven of The Walking Dead has been attracting viewers in their millions, all of whom have been watching Negan wreak havoc on Rick’s crew.

With so much fanfare, it should come as no surprise that showrunner Scott Gimple is not only considering a Walking Dead movie but believes it will inevitably happen.

"That [movie] question comes up every now and again," Gimple told ComicBook.com. "I'm sure one way or another, one day, it'll happen. I think it would be cool."

However, from Scott’s further comments, it would seem any movie would likely not tie-in to the AMC TV series.

“William Shatner as Rick. We’ll get Edward James Olmos as Daryl,” he joked. “Hit all the big shows! Matthew Fox as the Governor!”

Of course, Gimple’s casting may be absurd, but news of a Walking Dead movie will be welcomed by fans: though, with AMC’s series looking to run for many years, it could be a while until Rick and Daryl reach the big screen.

In the meantime, episode five of The Walking Dead recently aired in the US. Here’s our verdict.
