The series, which originally aired in the US on AMC back in 2018, follows the story of a doomed expedition to the arctic in the mid-19th Century.
Drawing from the real-life story of Captain Sir John Franklin’s tragic voyage, which ended in the deaths of more than 100 people, the series also incorporated supernatural elements.
Executive produced by Ridley Scott, The Terror has already gone down a storm with British critics, including The Independent’s Ed Cumming, who gave it a glowing five-star review.

And it seems to have gone down equally well with viewers, who have shared their horrified reactions to the series’ creepy thrills on social media.
One viewer described it as a “masterpiece”. “Atmospheric and claustrophobic,” they wrote. “In case you hadn’t guessed it, I bloody loved it!”
“Enjoying #TheTerror @BBCiPlayer because being trapped in a frozen waste and being stalked by an inconceivably dangerous nemesis is SO 2021,” joked another viewer.
One person described it as “utterly terrifying”, and another branded it “disturbing”, likening one especially chilling scene to the 2015 horror film Bone Tomahawk.
All episodes of The Terror are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
