At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

This year’s instalment, due to air on 18 October on Fox, follows Homer Simpson to the polling station, according to a preview published by Variety.
As he casts his ballot, it is revealed that Homer has made up his mind for all the smaller races included in the general election, except for the most high-profile one: the presidential election.
An outraged Lisa Simpson challenges her father’s indecision, asking: “How could you forget everything that’s happened the last four years?”
A list of Trump’s most egregious actions over his past four years at the White House then flashes up on the screen. The items on the list range from “called Tim Cook ‘Tim Apple’” to “destroyed democracy”.
The list begins with “put children in cages”, a reference to the treatment of children in immigration detention, as well as “called Mexican rapists” – a call back to Trump’s presidential campaign launch speech in 2015.
“Imitated disabled reporter”, “called third world countries s***holes”, “called white supremacists ‘fine people’”, “talked about grabbing p****”, and “lied about the size of his inauguration” are all included.
The selection also references a recent New York Times report that revealed Trump paid just $750 in income tax per year in 2016 and in 2017.
It ends with the following items: “wants third term” (the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution limits the number of terms a president can serve to two), “wanted to be on Mount Rushmore”, “and we haven’t even said the worst one”.
This year’s Treehouse of Horror episode will be the 31st in the series of Halloween specials, and the fourth episode in the current, 32nd season.
