From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Rumours that Homer and Marge Simpson are breaking up next season have run rampant on the internet after executive producer Al Jean announced the pair would legally separate due to Homer’s narcolepsy.
As you may have expected, the news has not set well with their son Bart Simpson who has taken to the chalk board to tell the world his parents aren’t breaking up.
In a Tweet sent out by the official Simpsons account, the 10-year-old can be seen writing “Homer and Marge are not breaking up” over and over again while grimacing.
Jean has now tweeted out the article, writing alongside it: “Extremely thoughtful review of episode no one, including reviewer, had seen.”
The original quote, which looks to have possibly been taken out of context, reads: "In the premiere it's discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it's an incredible strain on the marriage. Homer and Marge legally separate and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who's voiced by Lena Dunham."
Other revelations saw Jean confirm that Homer will be voting in the Presidential election and reunited with his beloved Spider Pig.
It was revealed last weekend that Sideshow Bob will fulfil his lifelong ambition to kill Bart Simpson in the Halloween episode. Fortunately, Bart will be resurrected, and there will be a special storyline based on Oscar-winning movie Boyhood.
"We have an episode based on the film Boyhood," Jean said. "It's a flashback/flashforward about Bart. We go to various points in his life and his life to come which I think came out really well."
