From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Billie Eilish is set to feature on a new podcast celebrating the US sitcom The Office.

Hosted by Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone on the series, An Oral History of The Office will also feature interviews with stars including Steve Carell, John Krasinski and Ricky Gervais.

The 12-part audio series will cover the history of the series in chronological order, following The Office from its beginnings as a spin-off of Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s seminal UK comedy through to its biggest storylines and moments.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Baumgartner has invited cast and crew members to join the discussion, including Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey.

The series is part of a growing trend of TV retrospective podcasts – series including The Sopranos and The West Wing have also been revisited in podcasts hosted by members of the original cast.

Fischer and Kinsey are also currently hosting a re-watch podcast called Office Ladies, which focuses on individual episodes of the series.

In May, Eilish appeared on Instagram answering questions about The Office posed by series star Wilson. After confessing that she had watched the sitcom a total of 15 times, Wilson jokingly told her to “move on”. The “Bad Guy” singer-songwriter also sampled audio from the NBC series on her 2019 song “My Strange Addiction”.

The first three episodes of An Oral History of the Office will be released on Spotify on Tuesday 14 July, with new episodes arriving weekly afterwards.
