Your support makes all the difference.Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston are currently promoting The Night Manager over in the US, and although it hasn’t aired across the pond yet, journalists are intent on asking about a second series.
While both actors have expressed how they believed the show has neatly wrapped up, they have since come out and said they may be willing to continue on one condition: John Le Carre writes another book.
The author has previously been reticent to write a follow-up, yet Hiddleston has revealed he is considering it because of the show.
"It's fascinating to hear that Le Carré himself is up for it and considering writing new material for characters he created 25 years ago," Hiddleston told Variety.
"I think it would be the first time he's ever done that. The chance to continue the journey would be very exciting if it presented itself.”
Co-star Laurie added: "We really need Le Carré to write another novel, and we need it sharpish. I don't have that relationship with him. Can you tell him?”
Lord Sandy Langbourne actor Alistair Petrie previously said that “everyone is up” for returning to the show, adding: “Where the story might go and with who is very hard to say but it is conceivable that a series two might happen and I think it would be such a shame if it didn’t.”
The Night Manager follows Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston), a former soldier tasked with infiltrating the inner circle of ruthless arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie).
Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, and Elizabeth Debicki also starred while Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier directed all six episodes.
