The moment occurs a little after the 16-minute mark in the fourth episode of the Star Wars series, which was released on Friday.
In the scene, the titular character (portrayed by Pedro Pascal) is talking with Omera, a widow on the planet Sorgan.
As the two characters speak, a shape – identified by fans as a boom mic, a microphone attached to a pole – can be seen hovering in the background, at the top of the screen.
The shape in question is quite discreet and can only be spotted if the brightness is fully turned up, but eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot it and flag it on social media.
One of them shared a clip of the moment on YouTube, saying his wife had originally pointed out the apparent blunder.
On Twitter, the apparent incident drew a comparison to the coffee cup that appeared in an episode of the final season of Game of Thrones.
The cup became a social media hot topic after being spotted in front of Daenerys Targaryen in episode four.
