From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. If you're going to collect together the casts of some of TV's most successful sitcoms to celebrate legendary director James Burrows, you're absolutely going to force them to do a sketch together. It's just what happens, folks.

With NBC's James Burrows tribute already reuniting the cast of Friends (minus Chandler) and Will & Grace, NBC kicked off the evening with a sketch involving an entire array of stars of current and retired sitcoms.

The clip sees cast members from Friends, Will & Grace, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, and Cheers all crossing paths. We're talking Sean Hayes, Jim Parsons, Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman, Eric McCormack, Woody Harrelson, Norm Peterson, Patrick Warburton, Matt LeBlanc, Johnny Galecki, and Charlie Sheen.

The whole thing shoots off with The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons ringing up Will & Grace's Sean Hayes to ask a favour; he was supposedly the one put in charge of gathering celebrities for the TV tribute, except he's left it all until the last minute. Now, you can't quite get a more classic sitcom premise than that, can you?

An All-Star Tribute to James Burrows aired in celebration of the director's 1,000th TV episode. The 5/6ths of Friends who turned up were all seated for an interview recalling some of their favourite memories of working with Burrows and on the show; revealing some interesting bits of trivia along the way.
