A seemingly throwaway line of dialogue from the show's 10th season actually hints at the fate of a supporting character who first appeared six seasons earlier.
Cast your minds back to the introduction of Raj’s younger sister, Priya Koothrappali (Aarti Mann).
You’ll remember that Priya was Leonard’s girlfriend for a brief time, which causes consternation in his future wife, Penny (Kaley Cuoco).
The pair continue their relationship when Priya moves back to India, but the long distance ends up driving a wedge between them.
After the fifth season, Priya is not seen again – however, the 10th season reveals how her story ended up in a rather vague manner.
Raj’s father mentions that five of his six children are married and self-sufficient. Considering Raj is not married, viewers discover that Priya settled down after her relationship with Leonard ended.
One fan on Reddit has only just realised this detail, writing: “Even though we don’t hear much about Priya after she and Leonard broke up, in S10E16 Raj’s dad says to Raj that out of his six children, five of them are married which means Priya is married. I don’t know if people noticed this.”
Some fans were grateful for the post. ”That’s new to me,” one wrote, with another adding: “I only realised it when I was binging some [episodes] today.”
Whether or not she married her ex-boyfriend, whom she cheated on Leonard with, is unknown.
