Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev has been “robbed by thugs” after a night out at the theatre.

The professional dancer, 39, was attending a show at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, starring duo Katya and Neil Jones, when he was reportedly targeted by two individuals on a moped.

Kovalev is said to have been left “shaken” but is unhurt following the attack.

A source told The Sun: “One second he was outside on the phone, the next moment the moped pair drove at him aggressively and totally disorientated him.

“They mounted the pavement and in a flash his phone was out of his hand. He was knocked off balance and very upset.”

Kovalev, who is expecting a baby with former strictly contestant Rachel Riley, is yet to confirm the incident on social media.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed that officers “were called at 22.11 on 20 June to reports of a theft on Roseberry Avenue, Islington”.

The statement continued: “It is alleged that two men on mopeds stole a phone from a man as he walked down the road.”

Earlier this year, Kovalev announced he was to step down from Strictly Come Dancing after eight “fantastic” years.
