From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Every year, rumours spread like wildfire about Strictly Come Dancing contestants hooking up with their respected partners. Sometimes they prove true, others are just nonsense.

Despite insisting she’s still single, fans haven’t stopped speculating that Mollie King may be romantically involved with dancing partner AJ Pritchard.

Appearing on last night’s show, the duo danced the quickstep to the Rihanna single ‘Umbrella’, receiving glowing praise from the judges.

Heading upstairs to be with the other contestants, their score — 31 — was revealed, everyone around them chanting "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss” loudly, leading to a slightly awkward moment.

"They really are all shouting 'kiss'," presenter Claudia Winkleman said to the pair, adding: “They’d all like it.”

The dancing duo weren’t the only ones chanted at over the evening, Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton receiving the same treatment — but they jokingly caved into the pressure.

Mollie and AJ have been asked countless times about their relationship. The Saturday’s singer was recently asked what her response to AJ asking her out would be, answering: "I can't tell you that! I have to see if he does! Who knows?”
