From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left frustrated after learning which celebrity leaves the show in tonight's results show.
According to reports, the judges' decision was posted on social media following the filming of the BBC show last night (30 November).
Those who happened to see the name of the celebrity who gets eliminated in the quarter final were "gutted" by the news.
Mirror Online says the news was broken on Twitter by somebody who had attended the show – we won't be revealing the name here.
One fan wrote: "Gutted – have been rooting and voting for them every week."
Another said the news has prompted them to stop watching this year's series, writing: "I guess my Saturday nights have been freed up. I don't care enough about anyone else to keep watching."
Topping the leader board last night was CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual, whose jive scored him 40 out of a possible 40 for the first time this series.
Other stars taking part in include actors Kelvin Fletcher and Emma Barton, former England footballer Alex Scott and comedian Chris Ramsey.
The Strictly 2019 results show airs tonight at 7.20pm on BBC One.
