Over the course of the final, the pair performed two perfect scoring dances, the first being a showdance to “I Got Rhythm” during which the BBC Sports presenter leapt across huge drums.
"I have to say that was fun that was full, fast and classic - my cup of tea," judge Darcey said of the performance, going on to praise how they incorporated elements from many of their previous dances in the competition.
The second dance to score the pair 40 was their jive to Bruno Mars's “Runaway Baby”, Ore’s personal favourite dance from the competition.
Craig Revel-Horwood seemed awestruck by the performance, saying: ”I can't bear it, you're so good! I've got nothing to complain about – I hate that. Virtuosic.”
Len Goodman added: “It's people like you that give me the most pleasure on Strictly – people with no background in dancing. Ore, you are the spirit of Strictly.”
Ore went on to beat Eternal singer Louise Redknapp and former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac to win the competition, both of whom finished the night with a score of 116 compared to Ore’s 118.
The sports presenter said of the victory: “This has been the most incredible experience of my life, I've learned to dance, I've made a best friend, I've been on the show that I loved for 12 years.”
The 2016 competition marks the show's most-watched series in its 12-year history. An average of 11.3 million viewers have tuned in to BBC One's flagship entertainment show on Saturday nights - the highest figure ever recorded.
Last year's Strictly Come Dancing champion was The Wanted's Jay McGuiness who beat out soap stars Georgia May Foote and Kellie Bright to emerge the winner.
