However, the streaming service went one further and offered up nine episode titles, leading to analysis over what ‘Madmax’, ‘The Pumpkin Patch’, and ‘The Pollywog’ all mean.
In a new report by The Hollywood Reporter, three new characters are revealed, two of which will be series regulars, while the other is currently a ‘potential series regular’.
"There's definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost," executive producer Shawn Levy told the publication. "Like the show itself, it's multigenerational new characters and really, really intriguing ones.”
First up is Max, a ‘tough and confident 13-year-old female’ who has a complicated history and difficult relationship with her stepbrother, Billy. Those around her are suspicious of her background. She also uses a skateboard to get around, contrasting with the boys’ bikes.
Max’s aforementioned step-brother, Billy, is a ‘super muscular, overconfident 17-year-old’ who ‘steals peoples' girlfriends, is a drinking game pro and drives a black Camaro’. Rumours are flying around the school that he once murdered someone thanks to his ‘edgy’ demeanour and his violent temper. This comes out on those closest to him. Billy is the ‘potential’ season regular.
Last, but not least, is Roman. Creators The Duffer Brothers have yet to settle on Roman’s sex of ethnicity, but apparently they are aged between 30 and 38. ‘After growing up homeless with a drug-addicted mother, he or she suffered a great loss at an early age and has been seeking revenge ever since.’ Roman is also an outsider who struggles to understand or connect with other people.
Attached to the casting call was a tagline, detailing what to expect from season two: "When terrifying supernatural forces once again begin to affect Hawkins, they realize Will's disappearance was only the beginning. And so the adventure continues.”
Meanwhile, the most popular words entered into the Stranger Things title generator have been revealed, proving the internet is basically just bored teenagers.
